Reclaimed Wood Lantern Hanger

If you follow me on instagram, you may know what I'm in the process of redoing a bedroom at my mom's house. I thought I was done decorating it a few weeks ago, but realized that it needed just a little more wall decor. As luck would have it, I just recently moved my wood table runner and it was sitting in the basement destined to be scrap wood. Instead I decided to make it into a cute lantern hanger for the bedroom :)

This piece is super long, about 4 feet. I already had the mending plates on the back of the wood to secure them together. All I had to do was add two d-rings, one on each corner, for hanging.

For the hooks, I chose some hand forged rod-iron ones I found on Amazon. I love these, they are all unique from one another when you look closely.

Once the hooks were up, I just added some lanterns I bought at Ikea. I've had these in this room for months, wanting to hang them in some way. I'm glad I finally thought of a plan for them :)

For now, they are housing some faux flowers. But when the girls get old enough, I'll be putting little cups of crayons and markers in them...useful, cute storage :)

This is the angle you see as you walk into the room. I love the color this brings to this side of the room (you'll have to stay tuned for the full reveal coming soon!). This wall was seriously so boring; I don't know what I was thinking leaving it blank before. This makes all the difference in the world!
