Are you beyond ready to start fall decor? Have you had yours up since August? I slowly step into fall around here. I usually add fall colors and cozy up the house with more textures and layers to get that fall feeling. Another easy way to transition to fall when everything around you is still green, is adding in green and white pumpkins! This was my favorite way this past year to bring fall into my home without feeling like I was pushing something that wasn't quite happening outside yet.
Layering both up and deep is a great way to bring warmth and cozy to a space and make it more complete. I like to stack plates, then add something on top of them. It can be more plates, a pumpkin, a pitcher or a little figurine or candle. Also, stacking books is another great idea to achieve this look. If there's an empty space behind, feel it with other like items.

Use a zigzag pattern for like items or colors.You can see here the white pieces kind of follow a back and forth pattern. The same with the green pumpkins even though there are only two.
FALL DECOR TIP: ADD WARMTH
Warmth can come in many ways, this can be used through color like mustard yellows, oranges, or browns. Lighting can also be used like candles or small lamps.
FALL DECOR TIP: DON'T FORCE FALL
For things not to feel forced or out of place, I like to incorporate what is going on outside in nature into my home. So pumpkins are growing, but everything else is so green and not dying. I can't bring in dying things unless I use fake things that replicate it....also, it just feels so forced. So, I like to use elements of what is happening in nature and incorporate them thoughtfully in that way. Like the use of these green pumpkins! They go well with some green stems or even hydrangeas if you have them.

Bring in textures with different elements. I have a few going on here from the brass candlesticks and the frame, to the white concrete planters, the doilies, ceramic and ironstone plates and creamers, and the books.

To make things look more cohesive and flow, try to keep the colors into 3 color families. Whites and creams and beiges can be one color family. Browns, brass, and maybe even oranges can be a second one. And then greens can be a 3rd one.
FALL DECOR TIP: USE FALL ELEMENTS THAT REMIND YOU OF FALL
For me, this can be things that are scalloped that mimic the pumpkin shape, like this creamer or plates. For other people, it can be peaches and apples since it's harvest time!
