As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, there's no better time to bring the cozy and inviting feel of fall into your living room. The season of pumpkin-spiced lattes and warm blankets is upon us...ready for it or not. I finally decided that it's time to transform my living space into a cozy haven for fall...figuring summer is finally long gone. I need to start enjoying what's in front and not missing what's behind. Today, I'm sharing ideas and tips to decorate your living room for fall, incorporating natural elements, faux furs, textures, amber glass, gilded mirrors, layers, antique pieces, and rustic oranges. And once again, you may have noticed I have no mention of pumpkins :)

1. Natural Elements

To capture the essence of fall, start by incorporating natural elements into your living room. I achieved this by using wooden furniture, rustic wicker baskets, pine cones, wood, dried pampas grass and other stems I found in a local field. Adding these things infuses the space with a touch of nature, making it feel warm and welcoming.

2. Faux Furs

Nothing says fall like the touch of faux fur. I can't believe it's that time to bring them out again! I draped one over this rustic elm bench I found at an antique store while traveling a few years ago. I also added one to my coffee table to soften it up and add warmth to the space.

3. Textures

Textures make a living room more visually interesting. I added a chunky-knit throw, a woven rug, tasseled pillows and other accent pieces that brought more texture into my living room. These elements add depth to the room and make it feel cozy and inviting. Don't hesitate to mix and match different textures for a well-rounded look.

4. Amber Glass

Amber glass accents are a great way to bring the warm, golden hues of fall into a living room. Incorporate amber glass vases by candle holders, or table lamps to add a subtle, yet impactful, touch of autumnal color. When the candles are lit, these glass pieces cast a warm glow.

5. Gilded Mirrors & Frames

Gilded mirrors and frames are a new favorite of mine. Their ornate frames and reflective surfaces not only add a touch of sophistication but also bounce light around the room, making it feel brighter and more spacious. I've gathered mine from antique stores, Antique Farmhouse, and Hobby Lobby.

6. Lots of Layers

Layering is key to achieving that cozy fall ambiance. Pile up different textures and patterns in your living room. Layer rugs over each other, stack cushions and blankets, and place decorative elements like books or candles on top of each layers. The more layers you incorporate, the cozier the room will feel.

7. Antique Pieces

Incorporating antique or vintage pieces into your living room can lend a timeless and rustic charm. I've used vintage wooden furniture, such as a weathered coffee table, elm bench, and distressed wooden cabinet. I feel like these pieces help anchor my fall decor while adding character to the room.

8. Rustic Oranges

Fall is synonymous with the beautiful hues of rust and orange don't you think? For so many years, I tried to stay clear of any colors for fall. Recently, I've found myself drawn to burnt oranges. It's easy to introduce the color without being too obvious. I added it with my fave throw blanket, in the amber bottles, gilded mirrors, brass candles, and even antique books.

9. Warm Glow

No fall-inspired living room would be complete without the warm, flickering glow of candles. Candles not only add an enchanting ambiance but also bring a comforting sense of warmth to your space.

10. Fall Scents

I always talk visually....but let's play with another sense. Your smell! In order to achieve that well-rounded cozy fall feel in your home, you need to make it smell good :) Candles can help with this of course, but my favorite thing is my Air Moji. The fall scents are on point! And make my space smell so good and inviting! My new favorite scent this year is Pumpkin Ginger Snap. You can find out more about them >here<.

With the arrival of fall, there's no better time to transform your living room into a cozy haven that embraces the warmth and beauty of the season....because before you know it, winter will be here as well!  By incorporating natural elements, faux furs, textures, amber glass, gilded mirrors, layers, antique pieces, and rustic oranges, you can create a living room that radiates the charm and comfort of autumn. Whether you opt for a complete makeover or just a few subtle changes, I hope these tips will help you welcome the fall season, making your living room a place where you'll love to spend your time.
