Cozy Cottage Christmas Dining Room Decor | Tour 2022

Welcome! Today I'm joining the Christmasa Home Tours  hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life where over 30 bloggers get together to share seasonal decor of their homes!  If you are stopping by on the blog tour hop from Stone Gable, welcome! I love looking at Yvonne's decor every season! She offers so much inspiration. You can check out the full list of home tours going on at the bottom of this post.

Christmas is fast approaching! Not sure I'm ready or not for it, but luckily my house is...almost! I keep feeling like it's half done, but when I look around, everything is all decorated. This year my Christmas decor is full of eucalyptus, greens, candles, textures, layers...and in my dining room, oranges! Decorating with oranges is a total new thing for me this year, and I love the extra pop of color it brings.

To cozy this space up, I brought in more textures and layers which included a few new faux sheepskin rugs that I threw on the back of my chairs. I love how this brought instant warmth! I use sheepskin rugs all over my house, floors and benches, but this year it's the first time to use it on tables (in my living room), couches and chairs.

For the centerpiece, I combined two types of garland, eucalyptus stems, oranges, and wood candlesticks.

You can see how I put this together (minus the oranges) in my reel below, but you can also see how I made the dried oranges on another reel on my Instagram :)

To keep up with the cozy vibe, I added a pillow and a plaid blanket to the head chairs. I also added a string of oranges to the open door on the corner hutch. I kept that hutch pretty simple since it already had dried eucalyptus steams in the vases.

Other small touches of Christmas were carried onto the wall and my buffet table. I feel like I usually do flocked everything in my house, this is the one room that I made sure to keep everything their true green with no flocking....just a hint of "snow" on the wreaths.

This little wall has been a new favorite of mine to decorate. This wall was empty up until a couple of years ago and has been slowly added to since. This shaker peg rail is a new addition since the fall. I add a straw market bag with fresh stems, a wood scoop with snowflake and tea towel, and one of the only flocked pieces in this space, a wreath.

I'm excited to have Christmas dinner in here with these candles all lit! I made sure to bring the garland on the table all the way to edge and drip down a little bit. It's easy enough to flip up to make room for dinner plates.
I always love looking at years past with my decor, and had to laugh that 10 years ago I decorated in here with some faux sheepskin rugs too!

This space has changed quite a bit, hasn't it? Above is one of the first years I ever shared my dining room for Christmas on my blog. First off, crazy that I'm still in this same house 10 years later. Second off, that I'm still blogger over 10 years later...almost 14 years now in fact! It's been interesting to see how my style has changed...and apparently some things that I have kept the same like the sheepskin!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! Check back often for some upcoming Christmas crafts! You can find my other home tours below:
