DIY Farmhouse Style Hanging Wire Baskets On Reclaimed Wood. Great way to infuse your house with fixer upper or farmhouse style!

For the past 6 years, I've been trying everything I can to get my house as bright and white as possible. I've seriously even considered painting the whole house white (still wanting to do that ;)). But, I have realized that as much as I love white, I also truly love me some contrasting dark wood. So, the past few months, I've been infusing a little dark wood, farmhouse style, into my home.

You don't ever get to see this side of my bedroom. It's one of the parts of my house that just gets neglected. I've done better the past few months at keeping it clutter free, but it still just needed a little boost to take it to the next level. So, I decided to make use of this empty wall space and infuse some farmhouse style into it.

I love projects like this, because it was minimal effort and cost and still looks awesome :) I have some old wood laying outside from a couple of old benches I made years and years ago. And it was destined to be firewood, but I decided it would make some awesome projects because there's nothing better than actual weathered aged wood :) These little slats I used for the back of the piece are from the old legs of the bench.

I secured them all together using some wood glue and 1 1/4 inch nails and my nail gun. I then added a D-ring to the back to hang it (not pictured).

I found these baskets at At Home for $6 a piece and mounted them onto the wood. (Here are some cute baskets from Amazon that can work too!)

I then threw some greenery I had lying around the house from Ikea to complete the look.

I just love how this made the space! I really think wood just grounds bright white spaces. It offers the perfect contrast!

As you can see, I didn't do anything to this wood. I just pulled out the screws and let everything be the way it came off the bench. It's imperfect, which just adds character :)

Now that I remembered this wood, I can't wait to use more of it around the house! And maybe soon I'll show you the other side of this dresser :) I've been working on that for like a year now haha :)
