Patio Decor and Reveal!

When we moved into our house, we had the tiniest slab for a patio. My husband wanted to make it bigger...like huge...and I was totally against it. I wanted enough grass for our kids to play on and didn't think a huge patio was a good idea. Anyway, he got is way and now I wish we could have made it bigger ;) Figures.

It's been three years since we expanded our patio and I finally got around to decorating a portion of it. This is the most pattern I have ever used, what do you think?

Our backyard is far from perfect, but I love this little corner and am so happy how it came together. This is the patio set I bought from Smiths of all places 5 or so years ago. It's held up wonderfully. I recovered the cushions a few years back with some fabric found at Hobby Lobby. I can't tell you how impressed I am that this fabric has held together so well over the years, especially for not being outdoor fabric. All I do is just get a hose and spray it down and it's good to go! I do need to refinish the wood on the furniture though, but I really like the worn look. I guess once I start getting splinters from it, I'll do it :) The rug was a Target find. I ended up getting it for around $70. I think it may even be on clearance now if you're lucky. The pillows are also from Target. And the lanterns are from Home Depot, Target and Ace Hardware. I'm telling you, I'm a complete lantern hoarder if you haven't been able to notice :)

The newest addition to my patio is this cute little privacy screen I just made. I'll have the details and tutorial on how to do it next week! This has made such a difference in this seating area.  And I couldn't help myself, I had to add these mirrors to the post. We'll see how long they stay up in the wind gusts we get around here. And that little side table has found a new place once again and is out of the basement. My husband wonders why I keep all my old stuff and not just sell it off. This is the reason :) I never know when I will find a chance to use it again. He'll just have to get over the furniture-stuffed basement lol

These lanterns still need some lights in them, but truthfully, I don't care that much :) They were a find from Home Depot a few weeks ago for about $7 each. I love the jute ropes!

This little corner is all from Target. I found this little vase on clearance last week for $4. And the lanterns were a find a few months ago for 30% off.

And of course, can't resist a night shot! It feels so magical...even the little one thinks so. She comes out here and dances all the time :) These are Edison bulb strung lights. Love them!

Can't wait to show you the how-to on the privacy screen! Enjoy your weekend :)

  4. I've been thinking all summer how I want to hang up some lights along our covered patio , but I can't decide to hand them on the inside of the curtains or outside. How did you choose? the whole area looks lovely.
