3D Halloween Specimen Gallery Wall

Happy Friday! I'm getting more and more into the spirit of decorating for Halloween. I try not to decorate for it until about 2 weeks out. Mainly because the wind tends to rip apart and destroy my fake cobwebs. I've learned :) Even at 2 weeks, I usually have to go back through them and fix them once or twice. I usually don't bring Halloween decor into our house though, it stops at the door. But this year I figured I might as well have some fun with it.

 I wanted to do something fun and not to scary. Something with a big impact. And cheap :) So, I grabbed some frames from the dollar store and put a black or white piece of paper inside of them and then hot glued my 'specimen' to it.

I got the skull masks, resin hand and big spider from Michaels.All together those came under $10. For the the glittery skull, that came from Walmart for about $2. I just took a knife down the middle of the skull (yes, very Halloween like ;) ) and then glued the flat piece onto the glass of the frame. The smaller spiders came from the dollar store.

Next year, I might go a little larger in scale and do more rows, but I love how this turned out. Most of all, how they are all 3D and aren't just pictures. I think that's the best.

 So far, the little babe isn't scared of anything on here. She was a little apprehensive of the big spider when it was on the ground...but who wouldn't be? Eww....I hate spiders.

For the lamp shade, I just got an old shirt and used this tutorial to put it on an old shade. Gives this little vignette the perfect amount of flair :)

How's that for a quick and cheap Halloween decor idea? This wall came under $20! Maybe I'll venture out more and decorate a little bit more of my house :)
