Washi Tape Pumpkins and Halloween Vignette

As you all may have noticed, I'm not much of a seasonal decorator. Don't get me wrong, I'll decorate the heck out of Christmas. But any other holiday or season, I'm lucky if I get anything up. I'm starting to realize as our little babe is getting older, that she is completely into the seasonal decor at the stores. Loves it. So, I figure, maybe it's about time I embrace this and start decorating more and more for the holidays and seasons :)

Washi Tape Pumpkins and DIY Halloween Decor
Last year, I bought some pumpkins for a couple of bucks each and painted them white, and then added some jute to the stems. I loved them in my Fall decorating. For this year, I decided to jump on the Washi tape bandwagon (yes! I have never used this before. And yes! I totally see what it's so fun :) lol). I added the tape starting from each stem and just draped it down the pumpkins.

And because spiders are the "in thing" at our house right now...Kid you not, we have like 10 black widows in our garage at the moment. The hubs killed them all...but yet their corpses still remain. It's sickening really. I should have made this piece realistic and brought them in instead of this little sparkly one ;)

To add a little bit of something extra, I grabbed one of the hands that holds my rings and put a candle on it then placed it in the lantern. Love the effect :)

Hopefully my seasonal/holiday decor is not going to stop there :) I have lots and lots of ideas!

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

  2. I didn't know Washi tape until I read your blog. And I was so happy that it's available here in Germany too! I ordered four ' vintage style' tapes and can't wait to get them. I have great plans for my IKEA chandelier lampshades (boring white).
And I love your Halloween decor! I think I will try to paint some pumpins this year. I love this white and jute - look! Thank you!
