Ready for the next round of flowers? These are just as easy as the felt flowers...but now you get to use flame :) Just be careful!
1: Cut out 5 or so circles out of a crinkly satin in graduating sizes. The bigger you make this flower, the more circles you'll want. They don't have to be perfect circles, they can even have points and what not :) It doesn't matter.
2: Take a circle and put it close to the flame but not in the flame. Just let the heat of the flame hit the edge of the circle. If you put it in the flame, you'll get black spots and then you risk the fabric going up in flames. So be really really careful. And just put the edge in the heat to get the edge to curl up.
3: Do this to all the circles.
4: Get a hot glue gun and put a dollop on the biggest piece in the middle.
5: Then take the next biggest and place it in the middle.
6: Continue to do this until all the pieces are glued.
7: Now embellish!
8: Hot glue a backing of your choosing on it. Use a snap if you are doing it for the interchangeable headband I mentioned here.
Now this one makes the flower have pedals. It's essentially the same as above, you just get to cut more :)
1: Cut out 4 or so circles out of a crinkly satin in graduating
sizes. The bigger you make this flower, the more circles you'll want. Once again, they do not have to perfect circles.
2: Cut slits into each circle, not all the way to middle, just enough to create a 'pedal'. I varied the sizes and pedal amount for each circle. It doesn't have to be perfect.
3: Now take one of the pedals.
4: Place it above the flame again to get all the edges. Be careful not to burn your fingers! If you are having difficulty getting the flame all the way down the slit, use a hand lighter for these spots.
5: Do this to all the circles.
6: Get a hot glue gun and put a dollop on the biggest piece in the middle.
7: Then take the next biggest and place it in the middle. Continue to do this until all the pieces are glued. Now embellish!
8: Hot glue a backing of your choosing on it.
I love the texture of the melted pedal flower....and I love this little babe :) So of course, here's a picture of her wearing it.
