3 Cozy Fall Mantel Decorating Ideas: Which One Is Your Favorite?

I've got a treat for you today! I'm styling this tricky mantel 3 different ways for fall, and I need your opinion :) Which fall mantel decor idea is your favorite?

This actual mantel is literally my favorite. It was a Marketplace steal many years ago, and then I went and added this wallpaper to the wall last year. It has worked for all the seasons except for fall...and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do! I know how stunning all of these fall mantel ideas would be with a white wall, but we have this beautiful wallpaper to contend with now :)

So today I'm trying out three different ways to decorate this mantel for fall, from cozy and collected to more traditional fall decor. I'm also sharing a couple of other angles to give you a good idea of how each look works with the rest of the room. Because sometimes a mantel can look completely different depending on what you put around it!

So, let's get into these three fall mantel decorating ideas and you can help me decide which one should stay!

FALL MANTEL DECOR #1

On this mantel, I went with a big floral theme. I started off with differing neutral colored hydrangeas and then added in fall eucalyptus stemss (found here), as well as some random other stems I found that fit the color combo.

I then added a vase I found at the thrift (for only $5), and brought a branch out of it and added more hydrangeas to it to make it look like it was crawling up the mantel. I finished off the look with a slew of candles along the entire mantel.

This peacock screen was a gift from my husband last year and really helped to break up this white! I had originally put bookpages up in the middle, but it was just too busy. now it's just too white..haha. I actually remedied this a little in one of the options below.

Here's a look at the full room. I tied the green wallpaper in with the victorian era chair and some green pillows on the couch. I then pulled the burn oranges and fall colors throughout the room with othe stems and pillows.

FALL MANTEL DECOR #2

This fall mantel started off looking completely different and ended here. I wanted this to be more natural with dried stems and gourds. I added books to create height and amber vases to bring in another textural element...and of coure, candles :)

This wreath is a new find and I think helps break up that white really well! 

Really, this might be my go-to way to decorate mantels now. I don't always feel like adding garland, but then it feels empty. Having a wreath in the middle is a perfect way to still bring a similar look.

I varied the height of these dried gourds using the books and brought in that element into the rest of the room with this basket of books.

Here's the corner to the side of the mantel, tying in the dried gourds and colros with this cute ruffle pillow.

FALL MANTEL DECOR #3

Last but certainly not least! This was actually my favorite until I added the wreath on the 2nd one...and then did all the hydrangeas on the first! I kept the hydrangea them on this fall mantel decor as well, putting them in a garage sale vase. I added other brass elements to bring in some fall warmth with the mirror and candlesticks. I also added some green hydrangeas in this arrangement in hopes to tie in the green of the wall.

On the other side, I added these beautiful fall landscape paintings I found at a couple of local vintage stores. I then tied in the green hydrangeas onto this side as well.

And of coure, I had to add some dried gourds. If you have been following me for a while now, you may know this, but I tried to decorate for fall without pumpkins. Yep...I know. How dare I. haha. Not that I haven't ever...about 5 years ago this mantel was completely full, top to bottom, literally...with plastic pumpkins. But, I'm over it. It's too cliche to me. I feel like there's so many other ways to bring in that fall feeling without pumpkins. Hence the gourds...yes, pumpkins are gourds..that's not lost on me :)

Sorry, didn't get to capture the other corner as well as the other ideas, here's as close as I got :)
