How to Style Block Print Home Decor: Pillows, Napkins & Table Linens from Cotton Print Club

You all know I’m a pattern lover, but lately I’ve fallen hard for one that’s rich in both beauty and history: block print.

If you’ve been scrolling decor feeds or walking through the aisles at Target or HomeGoods lately, you’ve probably noticed this gorgeous, hand-stamped look showing up everywhere...from pillows and curtains to bedding and even lampshades. And there’s a reason for it!

Block printing has serious roots. It dates back thousands of years, originating in India and parts of Asia as a traditional art form where artisans would carve intricate designs into wooden blocks, dip them in dye, and hand-stamp them onto fabrics. Every little imperfection told a story...because no two prints were ever exactly alike. It’s a technique that celebrates patience, craft, and the beauty of handmade design.

Fast forward to today, and that same organic, hand-touched look is exactly what our homes are craving. After years of sleek, minimalist decor, there’s been this beautiful shift toward warmth, texture, and authenticity. Block print patterns do that perfectly...they add that cozy, collected, globally inspired feel without overwhelming a space. My friends at Cotton Print Club have gifted me many pieces for my home using the same traditional printing methods of the past. They are just gorgeous and deserve to be shared in their own post today :)

Mix of block print patterns and wide stripes in neutral living space

Here are some tips on styling block print:
  • Start small – A block print pillow on a solid-colored sofa or a runner in the kitchen instantly adds personality and charm.
  • Mix it with solids and texture – Let the print shine by pairing it with linen, jute, or natural wood tones.
  • Layer patterns – Don’t be afraid to pair block print with stripes or subtle florals. Just keep a consistent color palette so it feels cohesive instead of chaotic.
  • Go vintage-inspired – Look for pieces in muted blues, soft greens, and terracottas. These tones give that timeless, artisan feel that works in any season.
Here’s how I love styling block print home decor in my own home:

I love how both small and large block prints complement wide stripes. The contrast adds just the right amount of interest without feeling busy.

The block print tablecloth ties in perfectly with the larger floral motif on the blanket hanging over the chair, creating a soft, coordinated look.

Block print isn’t just for pillows or bedding—it shows up beautifully in smaller details too, like this napkin. I kept the rest of the table neutral to let the design take center stage.

These block print pillows have the prettiest striped ticking ruffles! I mixed them in with a tassel pillow and a few solid ruffle ones for that perfectly cozy, layered feel.

The shams bring in a larger botanical pattern that complements the smaller block print of the ruffled pillow covers. To finish the look, I layered a tablecloth across the foot of the bed—a little non-traditional, but it pulls the whole space together perfectly.

This isn't a block print pillow, but it is from the same makers of Cotton Print Club and I absolutely love the color and embroidery element.

What I love most about block print is how alive it feels in a space. It’s not just a pattern—it’s a story of craftsmanship, culture, and creativity that’s making a comeback in modern homes everywhere.

So if you’ve been eyeing that block print bedding or those pretty printed napkins… go for it! It’s a trend that’s not just stylish, but soulful.
