Fall is finally gracing the rest of my house this week. The cooler weather has brought snow to our mountains and leaves to the ground. This has made me want to bring in all the layers, cozy fall feels, and warmer colors. I haven’t shared this living room with you since I changed the layout awhile ago, and it’s been interesting getting used to the new angles! I’m excited to finally share this with you and the cozy fall updates I’ve been working on. I also have some new plans coming for this space that’ll make it feel even warmer and more inviting.
For now, here’s my fall living room! The layout change put my longer couch along the hallway wall and the other couch and chair in a corner on the opposite side of the room.

It completely changed the feel of the space and created the perfect cozy gathering spot for family movie nights and slow mornings.

This angle shows my entryway and the wall that’s about to get some new wallpaper. I’m going with something subtle and timeless to add more texture to this area. Wallpaper always brings such a cozy, layered element to a room, especially during the cooler months when you want everything to feel warm and wrapped up in texture.
Here’s my favorite cozy corner, complete with the old pie safe that now houses all of our blankets. I love incorporating functional vintage pieces that tell a story while still serving a purpose. The creamy whites, rusts, and natural wood tones all blend to give that vintage fall living room feel that’s full of charm and warmth.
The built-in bookcase added so much texture and warmth this year. I turned the books around to showcase their neutral pages, which instantly softened the space. It’s a simple trick but makes everything feel cohesive. I added a few fall stems into these beautiful cement pots and mirrored that look along the mantel. The pops of muted orange and golden tones are subtle but bring that unmistakable fall feeling to the room.
The mantel itself was painted white a year or so ago, and it’s still one of my favorite updates. The mirror above it was a lucky vintage find — it fits perfectly and reflects just enough light to make the room feel airy while keeping that cozy cottage look. I layered in some woody stems that flow naturally across the mantel and finished it off with a candelabra and faux dried hydrangeas. The mix of old and new pieces keeps it feeling curated.
The fireplace grate was found for a steal at just $10, and it adds the perfect vintage touch to what would otherwise be a modern fireplace. I love when one little piece completely changes the tone of a space!
This coffee table is another $10 find from a vintage shop a few towns over — it was literally sitting outside ready to be sold for parts. I couldn’t resist saving it, and now it’s one of my favorite pieces in the room. It adds warmth, texture, and a little bit of rustic farmhouse charm. On top, I mixed dried stems from the field behind our house with faux hydrangeas, then draped a cozy blanket across the table for softness. I layered doilies underneath the vases to give it a sweet vintage touch and more texture.
My side table is actually a large wicker trunk I’ve had for years — one of my favorite thrifted finds. I just placed a tray on top to hold the remotes, drinks, and a few small fall touches like brass candlesticks and an old crock filled with dried stems. It’s practical but still beautiful — the perfect example of decorating with pieces you already have.
These pumpkins were such a fun DIY project that my daughter and I made together, and they’re the only pumpkins gracing my home so far this season. You can see the full tutorial [here]. They add just enough fall whimsy without overwhelming the space.
These pillows tie everything together with their warm tones and patterns. The mustard yellow and rust colors are cozy and timeless for fall, and they layer beautifully with the white slipcovered furniture.
On top of the pie safe, I added a few of my favorite pieces — a mix of vintage finds and new treasures. The stems are from a local field I’ve had my eye on for months. They’re a little messy but completely worth it for that organic, gathered-from-nature feel that makes fall decorating so special.

And those curtains? They’re actually tablecloths! This little hack is one of my favorites — it gives a designer look without the price tag and adds another layer of soft texture to the room.
This year, my fall living room is all about layers — cozy blankets, vintage finds, warm colors, and meaningful pieces that make our home feel welcoming. Every element adds to that cozy fall aesthetic that makes you want to curl up, light a candle, and stay awhile.
