Knock-off Designer Accessories

Don't you love the saying "Anything you can do, I can do better"? I think this applies to every over priced item that I love. I think of cheap inexpensive ways that I can replicate the item. After all, cheap is always better, right? I think so.

So, I saw these bathroom accessories by Ballard Designs (located here) that I absolutely looove and had to have!
And then I thought, that has got to be sooooooo easy to make, I mean for real, fabric and some ribbon? And their asking $79 for the waste basket alone!? HuH! So, I got busy with my craft tools and made this:

out of this:
Mainly I just used the hot glue gun, paper (too impatient to use fabric) and some ribbon. I had all the supplies and container already, so it cost me null, nil, nought....$0! It may not be exactly better, but it saved me $79 and I love it just as much, maybe even more!
