Before and After: Broken Dresser Makeover Into Shabby Chic Storage!

I'm almost done with the nursery! I'm excited to show you the whole thing soon. Here's just another little sneak peak :)

I got this cute little dresser from a friend. I'm not sure if it ever had drawers or not, but the two bottom shelves were completely busted. I actually didn't mind this color at all. In fact, it stayed this color for over a year. Here's the before:

The color of the nursery is all neutrals, so the blue totally didn't work, even though I did try it for a bit. But, it just looked a little rough anyway. So, to start it's transformation, I painted it Pebble White by Glidden.

I didn't really want to spend the time to fix the bottom shelves, although it would have been pretty easy. Instead, I just sewed up a little linen curtain and hung it on a tension rod right above the middle broken shelf.

The shelves still work great, they just don't look awesome having half the boxes tilting downward :)

Then for the top shelf, I just added a basket I had lying around for additional storage.

I love how this turned out! It's so cute and quaint :) I don't consider myself to by shabby chic, although I definitely love the style. But, I think it works perfect in here.

Above the dresser, I made a gallery wall out of the random stuff I found for her room. I ran out of places to put half of this stuff, so it worked perfect here on the wall. I have like two little tweaks to her room and then I'll share it with you all hopefully next week!

The cost of this project was free! The dresser was a gift, and everything I had on hand from other projects :)

  4. I too love to decorate with clocks. None of mine work either as the ticking gets on my nerves!! I set mine to ten minutes to two so they look like they are smiling. I love the style of your house, it looks so relaxing. Many thanks, Lesley from the UK
