My Halloween Living Room and Mantel

Easy Halloween decorating ideas
I'm not one to decorate inside my house for Halloween, let alone this early. But having two kids, it kind of goes with the territory. And it so happens that my house was already half way there for my Fall decorating. Thank you black pillows! I decided to keep it black and white for the most part, so it was pretty easy to transition it into Halloween decor.

I had a vision that I would replace all my big white pumpkins with black ones, but apparently the stores sell out of those pretty quick! I found two glittered black pumpkins, but obviously that wasn't enough. I tried a few other things out with skulls and what not, but it felt like the more simple I went, the better. So, I left my pumpkins alone.

I'm a definite fan of how creepy this chair looks draped in tattered fabric. I found that pillow at Michaels a month or so ago. Probably paid too much for it, but I couldn't resist :)

And the bats! It gives this space so much movement; I love it!

Of course, I had to add a skull in somewhere. I thought this would be freaky to my little ones, but they don't seem to care. In fact, my two year old loves it and thinks it's smiling at her :) Figures.

My mantel itself was a simple change, just moving the middle lantern and placing an owl there instead. Another thing I thought my kids would be freaked out about. Nope. Love it.

I didn't change much in the other half of the living room since my Fall home tour. Thankfully, those stripes on that pillow can easily look like Beetlejuice's suit :) Of course, now I probably won't ever look at them the same and it will remain a Halloween pillow...

Big changes are coming to this space soon! That little corner is not going to look like that anymore. I can't wait to get started and share it with you all!
